Rare Painite from the legendary Mogok gem tract. Painite is a rare gem species that wasn't discovered until the 1950s. For a while, only and handfull of crystals were known and owning a Painite specimen was nearly impossible. Only more recent discoveries in Mogok have made Painite more readily available to collectors. Painite crystals are always small, have a hardness of 8, and contain both zirconium and boron, which are rarely found together in minerals.
