Single crystal of chromium rich Grossular Garnet. This variety was discovered in east Africa in 1967 and named by Tiffany & Co. for the nearby Tsavo National park. Vivid, radiant green color makes this specimen the tops for color for Tsavorite, with most found being a lighter mint green color. Bright, glassy crystal faces and areas of transparency make this specimen special - valued at $300-$400, don't miss out on this one. Specimens of this color are only found sporadically and are much less common than the Tanzanite that comes from the same mine. I don't have anymore of these, and didn't even know I had this one until I found it in an old flat of minerals recently.
