Terminated deep green Chromian rich Diopside crystal. This crystal came from a pocket opened in December 2007 that produced crystals of exceptional color, much better than typical Merelani Diopsides (even though 'normal' Merelani Diopsides are the world's best). For more information on this find, refer to page 77 of the January-February 2009 issue of the Mineralogical Record. Small Calcite crystals adorn part of one side of the crystal.
