Calcite

Yellow scalenohedral Calcite crystals, each with sharp phantoms, possibly partially due to Cinnabar. This is a rare specimen from the old mercury mining district of Terlingua, located near the Mexican border. Cinnabar was discovered here in the 1880s, creating a temporary mining town, now nothing remains but a ghost town. This specimen is out of an old collection from the 1970s and comes with an old Fraziers Mineral label. A little bit of tip damage but overall in great condition.
