A large 2.4cm burgundy red Almandine garnet in matrix. A large sized garnet for the locality with just one small chip, otherwise perfect. this was in the Irv Brown collection for years, presumably held by him due to it's large sized crystal and striking appearance. A much better than average USA classic valued at $300.
