The specimen shown is a very hard (7-8.5) fibrous aggregate of Dumortierite, an Aluminum and Iron Borosilicate often
used as an ornamental stone or cut into attractive cabochons. The bottom has one small cut face to show the color and better
position the display angle if so desired.
