Large, terminated Tourmaline crystal mined in late 2014 from an undisclosed locality in northern Malawi. The outside has attached purple crystals of Lepidolite and the inside is partially altered to Lepidolite (at least in the lower portion). Lots of smaller crystals are intergrown around the complex termination. A few small chips present but overall in great condition and complete all around, and it has been professionally cleaned. Weighs 495 grams. Tourmaline crystals at mineral shows such as Tucson typically sell for $40-$60/gram (granted for more gemmy crystals). Although it is not transparent, it gets high marks for it's large size and the interesting locality, from which I've never seen Tourmaline before. Even a low $5/gram valuation would put this crystal at $2,475.
