Deep red Garnet crystal in a matrix of grey Graphite. The Garnet is 8mm in diameter and these have been analyzed to be mostly Almandine with a touch of Pyrope in the outer layers. These make stunning specimens due to the fact that the Graphite has been removed from around the backs of the Garnets allowing light to pass through the crystals, creating glowing 'red embers'.
