Two red Garnet crystals in a matrix of grey Graphite. The Garnets reach 5mm in diameter and have been analyzed as mostly Almandine with a touch of Pyrope in the outer layers. These make stunning specimens due to the fact that the Graphite has been removed from around the backs of the Garnets allowing light to pass through the crystals, creating glowing 'red embers'.
