Villiaumite

Transparent orange Villiaumite crystal from the open pit phonolite quarries in Aris, Namibia. These quarries, along with the Kola peninsula in Russia, are the source of the world's best Villiaumite. Though larger, Villiaumite from Kola is a darker red and usually just cleavages. This is an exquisite thumbnail-sized Villiaumite with total transparency and a uniform orange color. Good sized crystal for the locality.
