Mound-shaped cluster of rich purple Amethyst crystals from old finds in Zacatecas. Small spheres of white Calcite are preferentially coated on areas of the Amethyst, and also cover the bottom of the specimen (the Amethyst detached after formation and was later coated by the Calcite). Undamaged piece from the Don Boydston collection, acquired from John Seibel about 25 years ago.
