Parcel of two well know Arizona gemstone minerals, green Peridot and Pyrope garnets. The Pyrope are known as 'ant hill garnets' because they are found on and around 'ant hills', which are the mounds of soil piled up around the entrances to ants underground tunnels and cavities. The ants encounter the garnets while excavating their underground home and pile them up on the surface along with other soil and debris. Ant HIll garnets were discovered long ago and collected and used by native americans. The Pyrope are gemmy and have been tumble polished. The Peridot are also gemmy, from the San Carlos Apache Reservation, and are in their natural state.
