Large purple Coquimbite crystal with attached red crystals of Romerite and Alunogen from recent finds at the Monte Arsiccio Mine in Italy. The Monte Arisiccio Mine is an old iron mine that worked Barite, Pyrite, and iron oxide ore bodies. Along with other uncommon sulfate minerals, this mine has produced what are in my opinion the world's best Coquimbite specimens. This specimen is composed of large single Coquimbite crystal 2.8cm in size that is translucent and complete all around with incredibly rich purple coloration. The main crystal is crystallized along all the edges, even the bottom edge. These specimens should be kept sealed in plastic bags or boxes or otherwise be kept from high humidity or moisture.
