Tsavorite is a chrome and vanadium rich variety of Grossular from East Africa and is one of the most valuable types of garnet found anywhere. This crystal was found at the Merelani Tanzanite mines and has good glassy luster, good 'mint' green color, and gemmy transparent zones. It's a well formed complete and undamaged crystal with a contact on the backside where it grew against matrix.
