Large 15cm sparkling, diverging spray of black schorl crystals from Thompson Peak in northern California. The main cluster is intergrown and attached to smaller clusters by rosettes of silvery Muscovite. This is far and away the best I've ever seen from this obscure locality, and a review of specimens on Mindat shows nothing approching this quality. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection.
