Fossilized tree sap containing inclusions of well preserved insects. There are many small flying insects, wood boring insects, and a well preserved small spider. Copal is similar to amber, but younger in age. This copal is from the tree species Hymenaea verrucosa and believed to be from the Quaternary Period. Polished on all sides.
