Fossil tree sap containing a large number of well preserved wood boring and flying insects. This deposit has an amazingly high density of insects. Like amber, copal is fossilzed tree sap,
though younger in age. This one has what appears to be a flying termite with well preserved delicate wings over 1cm long. This copal is from the tree species Hymenaea verrucosa and believed to be from the Quaternary Period.
Smooth and well polished all around.
