This specimen is a complex combination of multi-stage growth of Quartz that shows two distinct periods of development. The early stage growth is an Amethyst Quartz crystal with Hematite either in or on its faces. The late stage growth is a nearly complete coverage of clear Quartz, terminated on both ends. This pattern of development gives the specimen the appearance of having internal Hematite and Amethyst Quartz phantoms when viewed from the top or sides. A very aesthetic and interesting specimen.
