Miargyrite crystals on Quartz crystals. Miargyrite is a rare silver bearing species (silver antimony sulphide). This is a historic piece that comes with a number of old labels including one that states the species was acquired from Ed McDole back in 1958. The old labels indicate the locality as 'Schemnitz, Hungary' located in what is now Slovakia. From MINDAT: 'Vein-type epithermal precious metal and base metal deposit. Old German name is Schemnitz and the old Hungarian name is Selmecbanya'. Ex. Dr. Steven Morehead collection with label.
