Crystals of Tsavorite and Diopside on Graphite. There are also small white Calcite crystals present. Tsavorite is a chrome and vanadium rich variety of Grossular from East Africa and is one of the most valuable types of garnet found anywhere. This specimen was found at the Merelani Tanzanite mines and is a fine example of some of minerals found at this locality. High quality, glassy Tsavorite crystals on this specimen!
