Crystals of Tsavorite and Diopside on Graphite. Loads of nice Tsavorite crystals here, along with a single Diopside. The crystals formed on massive Graphite, but there are also great crystals of Graphite present too mixed among the Tsavorite. Tsavorite is a chrome and vanadium rich variety of Grossular from East Africa and is one of the most valuable types of garnet found anywhere. This specimen was found at the Merelani Tanzanite mines and is a fine example of some of minerals found at this locality. High quality, glassy Tsavorite crystals on this specimen!
