Cylindrical, lab-grown crystal of Silicon used for making silicon chips for electronics. These are grown in chip manufacturing plants in cities such as Sunnyvale and Cupertino which are located in what is called 'Silicon Valley' in the southwestern part of the San Francisco Bay area. Thin wafers are cut from these crystals, polished, and then made into chips. Mirror lustrous and brighter than photos indicate.
