Prehnite from the Merelani Tanzanite mines is well known as some of the best in the world. A seldomly seen oddity of this material are pseudomorphs of Prehnite after Quartz crystals. I have seen hundreds of Prehnite specimens from this locality and only rarely see one of these pseudomorphs. This specimen is a partial Quartz crystal that has mostly been pseudomorphed to Prehnite.
