Jeremejevite with Tourmaline

Large, etched Jeremejevite crystal with areas of transparency with attached acicular green Tourmaline. Excellent, saturated blue color over the entire crystal. This is considered good sized for Jeremejevite, and along with the gemmy nature of the crystal and the added bonus of the Tourmaline make for a rare and attractive specimen valued at $300-$500. Prior to the finds at Erongo, a specimen such as this would have cost in the thousands of dollars. There are also some good gem sections in this crystal, giving it some intrinsic value as cutting rough. Weighs 11.5 carats.
